Today is World Mental Health Day 2024, celebrated every year on the 10th October. The theme for 2024 as set by the World Federation of Mental Health is Workplace Mental Health. This shines a light on the importance of mental health and well-being in the work environment for people, organisations and communities.
The statistics show how important it is to bring awareness to Workplace Mental Health as it is the 5th most common reason for sickness absence and 15% of workers have an existing mental health condition.
As we spend most of our daily lives in work, it can have a huge impact on our mental well-being. We promote positive mental health in our workplace by opting into the 4-day working week which allows colleagues to spend more time doing what they love. We operate a flexi-time system and hybrid working options too.
We signed the Mental Health at Work Commitment, have trained staff in Mental Health including accredited Mental Health First Aiders, and have implemented a Employee Assistance Programme where our staff can access free counselling and GP appointments along with other great benefits.
We support open conversations about Mental Health and are pleased to celebrate this important day, in hope by bringing awareness, workplaces can achieve positive mental health in the workplace.
