ESP Milestones!

The end of 2025 marked the conclusion of our 30th anniversary year, a proud milestone for the company and our team. We have recently taken a bold and forward-thinking step toward long-term sustainability and growth by transitioning to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) company, one of almost 100 in Wales. This exciting change will ensure that the talented individuals who have shaped its success will now share in future achievements.

Earth Science Partnership has been at the forefront of engineering, geology, and applied environmental science since 1995. From our Head Office in Cardiff, we have delivered solutions to clients across the UK and beyond, offering expertise in ground engineering, environmental assessments, and geological consultancy. The transition to an EOT will enable the company to continue providing exceptional services while positioning itself to thrive in the years to come.

Looking ahead to the next 30 years, the move to an employee-owned structure reflects a commitment to empowering the team that forms the heart of the business. Employee ownership, one of the fastest-growing business models, offers financial benefits such as tax-free bonuses and increased security, and fosters an inclusive environment where employees are invested in the company’s growth and success.

Giles Sommerwill, Director at Earth Science Partnership, shared his enthusiasm for the transition: “This is a huge moment for us. The EOT isn’t just about business, it’s about people. We’ve built a team that genuinely cares about the work we do and the clients we support. Now, every employee has a direct stake in the company’s future. It means greater rewards, whether that’s financial benefits like bonuses and mortgages made easier or just the simple satisfaction of knowing that their hard work directly contributes to their own success. It’s a win-win for everyone.”

Beyond financial incentives, the EOT model strengthens the company’s collaborative culture, fostering professional growth and shared responsibility.

Matthew Eynon, Director, added: “Our transition to employee ownership demonstrates that we value our people and want to take care of them into the future. The link between company performance and future reward is communicated so that employees understand that individual and collective effort influences their future significantly. Ultimately, we’re all in it together; the sense of belonging is creating a shared responsibility in day-to-day and continuous professional development goals. Along with other future-looking successes such as being a ‘Gold Standard’ Four Day Week company, the opportunities afforded by how our work evolves into the next few years of employee ownership are potentially life changing, from influencing how ESP develops and grows, being a bigger part of the business, identifying/making future staff appointments and awarding bonuses.”

Reflecting on the last 30 years of success, this transition consolidates our independence and paves the way for continued service excellence, and employee-driven success. With a commitment to collaboration, innovation, and sustainability, the company is poised to evolve and achieve even greater heights. Here’s to the next chapter of growth and success for Earth Science Partnership.
