The past is the key to the future: a better understanding of site history leads to better predictions of engineering behaviour of the ground. Engineering geology is a multi-faceted discipline that is ever expanding and there are three interlocking themes that enhance the skills of an engineering geological consultant:
- working with multiple disciplines, being versatile and adaptable to change;
- possessing a wide range of knowledge and experience; and
- using lessons of the past
