We have been looking back on The Geological Society’s Year of Resources for 2018. The Year of Resources was an opportunity for The Geological Society to showcase academic and applied research focusing on geological resources, including energy, minerals and water. Their events throughout the year involved academia and industry, economists and social scientists, and government bodies charged with securing the UK’s resources base, as well as partner societies and organisations.
They explored the sustainable extraction and use of natural resources through research conferences, lectures, educational programmes and activities. Outputs from the year included a mineral gallery, a blog on the lithium conference, a mineral resource educational game, factsheets and a variety of public lectures.

More information, resources and educational material can be found via their website https://www.geolsoc.org.uk/Resources18?pg=3
We look forward another exciting year ahead; 2019: The Year of Carbon!
