This week sees the start of British Science Week. The ten day event organised by British Science Association is a celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths. This year it runs from 5th to 14th March 2021 and the theme is ‘Innovating for the Future’.
Anyone can join in the celebrations through a range of different activities and ideas available on the British Science Week website here. There are also a wealth of downloadable resources and activity packs available.
The event also aims to change typical stereotypes of the science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) sectors. It looks to raise awareness of the diverse range of people working in labs, at universities, in innovation centres, in businesses and out on construction sites, who come from many different backgrounds, and who have taken many different routes into their career. We will be helping to raise awareness of this campaign using #smashingstereotypes.
