Our Amanda Good attended the Small Biz 100 Blue Tie (Virtual) this week. The event is an annual Small Biz 100 tradition, usually held in central London with invitations being sent to all Small Biz 100 previous alumni as well as the current year’s businesses. As one of this year’s chosen 100, we were delighted to be a part of the event.
The Small Business Saturday team put on a thoroughly good night, which was hosted by Michelle Ovens, MBE. Despite the event being virtual, they still managed to bring the bar to it’s members, with cocktails provided for all attendees!
The evening was a celebration of small business success and connecting with other Small Business 100 members. It is held in memory of Francesca Kemp, a Small Biz 100 member who sadly passed away in 2015. Each year the ‘Francesca Kemp Award for Small Business’ is awarded to the business that “contributes the most” to its community and the wider small business community across the UK.
Now in its eighth year in the UK, Small Business Saturday has grown significantly each year, with a record turnout of 17.6 million people choosing to shop small on the day last year, generating an estimated £800m.
