ESP’S Give and Gain time allowance (see: https://earthsciencepartnership.co.uk/?p=2373) has allowed our Technical Manager, Hywel Davies, to partake in the Respite Care Project run by Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council (see: goo.gl/5rrNmJ).
The Respite Care Project provides families with short breaks from caring for children with disabilities and/or additional needs. The time allowance has enabled Hywel and his partner to provide respite care for a family in the Merthyr Tydfil Area, and, in turn, to form a treasured friendship with a wonderful young person. Hywel said, “seeing the positive effects it has had on the family is something that provides me with a great sense of fulfilment, and a hope that it will carry on”.
We hope that Hywel continues to make use of the Give and Gain time and enjoys future activities.
