From the 4th to the 8th December 2023, Wales Climate Week is taking place and encouraging businesses to join the conversation. We wanted to share how ESP work continuously internally and externally to make a difference and tackle climate change. Within our company-
- we give staff the opportunity to recycle everything where possible
- we have solar panels installed to influence greener energy
- we operate our heating using a Nest system to monitor and control energy usage
- we are making efforts to go paperless where possible, auditing and reducing printer usage
- we have several electric cars within our fleet
- we continue to work from home as much as possible to reduce staff commutes/emissions and their carbon footprints
- we continue to operate a 4-day working week so staff are reducing their environmental impact by having one less day to commute
- we use energy efficient laptops and equipment
- we annually set and review environmental goals
- we report and track our emissions through the SME Climate Hub
Outside of our company-
- we promote and participate with events relating to the environment and climate crisis
- we sponsored World Land Trust, planting 100 trees and securing 5 acres of land to protect our planet’s vital rainforests
- we joined the SME Climate Hub Campaign, and committed to becoming a UK Business Climate Action Leader
- we donated large wooden core and sample soil boxes to be recycled as planters for the Outdoor Community Project. This encouraged the wildlife to thrive in their newly built flower beds, bat boxes and bug house
- we donated to the Woodland Trust as one of our Christmas Charities
ESP will continue to ‘Build Back Better’ and improve sustainability where we can to make the world a better place for future generations. This remains at the heart of ESP, being a big part of who we are and what we do.
